Every UK business day, in the late afternoon London time. currencyapi imports every publication within the hour after it appears.

Which rate is this?

These are the daily spot exchange rates against sterling, observed at 16:00 London time of the Bank of England, against the GBP. Each value is shown both as the price of one unit of the currency in GBP and as the amount of the currency one GBP buys.

What happens on weekends and holidays?

The bank publishes nothing on those days. Rules that refer to a day without a publication usually mean the last rate published before it, which is what the API returns for such a date.

How far back does the history go?

The stored history starts on 2 January 1975 and covers every publication since.
